Explorer House

My husband and I spend two nights in this beautiful B&B recently and enjoyed it very much. Our bedroom was confortable with a private balcony. We enjoyed the fact that we had access to a mini kitchen, a lounge, a second balcony and a nice yard, an oasis of tranquility and beauty. Many small attentions and the good breakfasts added to our experience. Because of Covid the breakfast was delivered in a basket to our choice of location (room, balcony, yard etc). There is a jacuzzi and a fire pit in the amazing yard. I recommend a stay at Explorer House and hope to go back soon.

We had a great stay, the staff was very friendly and gave great suggestions and deals for local wineries and restaurants/entertainment, the house was amazing! They had everything you could need and more and everything was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend Explorer House.

The host was abrasive and rude in front of other guests because we do not arrive for breakfast at 9:00am sharp. We were not told that we had to be there at 9:00am sharp. When we arrived after 9 she was rude to us in front of other guests telling us we could not have breakfast. This was embarrassing for me in front of my girlfriend and other guests. She did not even offer us a piece of toast. There were only 4 other guests there having breakfast. She could have been more polite to us.

Well maintained and close enough to the main historic area. Owners were real nice.

Explorer House is a lovely bed and breakfast located in a quiet area. The house is decorated to showcase different areas of the world and each suite has its own theme. The grounds are inviting and relaxing. Attention to detail is evident in every aspect.

The hosts were fantastic. Friendly, Very knowledgeable about Niagara on the Lake (wineries, tours shows, activities). The facilities were 1st class and included a backyard jacuzzi and gas fire pit. The breakfasts were first class - creative and tasty.

We booked the Explorer House last minute for a quick February overnight for my boyfriend's birthday. It was absolutely outstanding and I wish we had stayed two nights to enjoy the amenities more. Thoughtful little details everywhere, from little doorstoppers, a guest lounge stocked with movies and books, a cabinet with wine glasses available for guest use, snacks and bottled water, a dark washcloth just for makeup removal... these types of touches show an incredible thoughtfulness! I would have loved to spend the day in front of the fireplace reading. The hosts were able to provide recommendations for dinner and were prepared to offer winery suggestions as well. The breakfast was delicious - quite possibly the best eggs benedict I've ever had in my life. We forgot to tell them ahead of time that my boyfriend doesn't like runny eggs and they very kindly made his scrambled instead. We were here in the winter (woke up to a surprise snow storm!) but I can see why it would be an oasis of peace in the summer when Niagara on the Lake gets crowded. Each room was beautifully decorated in an international theme and the photos displayed everywhere were just stunning. I love to travel and I love hotels and luxurious stays, and this met/exceeded my expectations! It's wonderful to know that this place exists about a four hour drive from us - we plan to return for another peaceful getaway soon!
