Fantastic value for money stay in El Nido. Make sure you get a room overlooking the beach. Cleanliness could be better but everything else including staff helpfulness is first rate. Don’t be picky and you will really enjoy your time here.

Great place to stay
Really enjoyed the stay. Just enough out to main town so you can detach but still within walking distance to everything. Breakfast was good and a great cup of coffee to aid a hangover.

We liked the beach view from the restaurant and super friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to the beach. Our breakfast was included, however the options weren't great and portions were small. Our room was nice and spacious, good AC ,however the shower was not great, on one or two occasions we had no water at all. Overall we had a very nice stay!

So when I first got here, there was so much wrong with this place that I was leaning toward two stars, but then overtime, the view and amazing staff won me over. So let’s touch upon some of the bad before we can focus on the good. First, my check-in was delayed until 4 o’clock. Not a major thing, but a little annoying. However, something that was really annoying was the construction that went on all day long. Oh, and on the note of construction, I got trapped in my first room (the moved me to three rooms throughout my stay) when the lock seem to break for no reason. One of the hotel workers heard my cries, and we were able to free me by slipping the key out the window. So how does this place rate four stars. Well, the view for one. It was so relaxing to get away from El NIDO proper, and just spend the day looking at the waves and those giant rocks off shore. The area of success was the staff. Everyone was so nice, and so friendly that I soon forgot the negatives. In fact, when I got sick, the manager sent her employees out for medicine and supplies. The genuinely concerned for my health and that means a lot So would I stay here again. Yes.

It's a Filipino resort that looks and feels like it was built and furnished from leftovers found at the salvation army store. It definitely has character! The beach and sunset are awesome. The wifi is really horrible. And the cell signal is terribly weak. If they only fixed the wifi it would help justify the room rates they charge. And breakfast could be also be improved. But chill out and enjoy Palawan 🙏

I like this place. It’s not perfect like other modern western style hotels. But it’s the imperfections that make this hotel perfect for me. The cottage has character. The garden is so peaceful. And the beach is literally 4 steps down from the patio. Can’t say enough about the staff. No uniforms here. Just friendly and accommodating people that treat you like family. And they have puppies! Yes puppies! Two adorable and very friendly puppies. My son loved them. We’ll be back!

Sunsets at our balcony were great. Our room is in disrepair. Cracks on the wall, tiny roaches scrambling, water was brownish...yes, as in rusty and smelly too. AC was working but filter is full of dust. No soap or anything in the room. Breakfast reservation was at 7am, nobody was there. We had to wait for 15 or more minutes before someone greeted us to check in. They were painting the walls, great. But, more than that they should deep clean the rooms and rstaurant. Overall, the place can be in a much better shape if managed properly. Will I recommend Island Front? No!

Perfect stay
I found this accommodation to be surprisingly good. Front desk was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had a balcony overlooking to the sea. The beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful and quiet and there is nothing more relaxing than sitting there during sunset. Breakfast was yummy with three different breakfast options: Filipino, American and Continental. A good sign of appreciation towards their customer is that upon check-out they greeted us with some cookies. Definitely this accommodation is underrated on Hotels.con

The natural and wooden style is very nice. However internet was not working at all, my deluxe room also did not have hot water in the shower (got hot water once, other times it was either warm or cool), at times there was dirty water coming out of the shower and the sink. Also breakfast are very small, monotonnous and overall quality is just bad. Generally I don't think this place is worth the money.

Good views but only an ‘ok’ stay
Islandfront was ok for the few nights we were there. The breakfast was very poor as very little options and even though there were two signs to say coffee and tea there was no tea. The WiFi wasn’t connected when we got there so the staff had to go and buy more data and then when they did that it only lasted ten minutes so we had to go to a cafe to check emails and book other accommodation for our trip. The room was nice and had a lovely view but very basic and there was two power cuts which made the room very dark

Fantastic stay!
At fisrst when reading the reviews from prior guests, i was a bit skeptical....but then when we arrived, i seriously didnt knkw why there was so many bad reviews! We checked in and within 2 minutes, everythin was sorted, from room, to van back to Puerto Princessa and even tour A for the next morning. The young lady took us to our room, and the photos did not do it justice at all. The view was just amazing overlooking the entire bay and the sunsets were mindblowing. So i would reccomend paying a bit more to get the better room, but totally worth it. The room itself is very basic, but everything you need from fridge, ac, bed with net. The restaurant staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to help us. The knly setback was the wifi....but if you go to el nido....you dont need wifi. Overall a fantastic couple of nights and we will reccommend it for sure....but remember, book the better rooms for beach front view!

2/10 Poor

Possibly the worst hotel in el nido
Where do I start, upon arrival I was greeted by a very unfriendly reception person who was more interested in being on the Internet on her phone and answering to her 2 children. I was showed up to my room on stairs that were positively dangerous to find I had no hot water as soon as I checked. They said they found the issue but the water wasn’t very hot (stone cold in fact). Changed my room up more stairs with broken handrails and when they were checking if it had any hot water the tap came of in the house keeping staff’s hand, who incidentally was barely old enough to be out of school. ( this time I got a Luke warm shower came out into the room and turned the air conditioning on to find blood smeared in the outside of it. Then there is the wifi which only works in the reception area but due to the staff being on it all the time it was next to useless. Then there’s the non existent buffet breakfast due to be open at 7.00 but because the staff were feeding themselves it didn’t even start to come out until after 7.30 and was terrible and that’s being kind. The photos on Expedia are obviously photo shopped because the view was nothing like what is seen in the photos. If in el nido give this place a big miss. Absolutely terrible.

RESORT OF LAST RESORT
IslandFront Cottages, El Nido, Palawan, Philli service sketchy at best when someone was around however most of the time, no one was around. no hot water, no refrigerator, no phone, nor housekeeping. asked for housekeeping on 3 different days, not once was it done. AC works most of time when generator doesn’t kick off, tv didn’t work. Thin walls and can hear the next room’s conversation. steps or stairs uneven height and not to code. Resort of last resort. Quiet location and sunset view’s incredible from our room patio.

Great place just one step from the beach
Great little place with friendly and helpful staff . Tasty breakfast included was a bonus . Each day there was a different choice of traditional Filipino food . Location great - close to town but still away from the tourist crowd . I highly recommend this place and definitely will come back .

Terrible, never go there
This is the worst place i have stayed in my whole life. I had a horrible experience. The place stinks it smells like sewage and there are stray digs all over the place. Not to mention that the room was very dirty, the sheets were filthy and there were insects inside the room. There was no hot water for 3 days and of course no wifi. We also couldn't sleep at night as there was a chicken cage just right behind our room, the hens started making sounds from 10pm till morning. They said they offer free breakfast but the breakfast was really so bad so that we were going to have breakfast every single day outside. It was really a horrible experience and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Nice beachfront hotel
Our room was very nicely decorated, you could see they put a lot of effort on it. The hotel was just at the front of tbe beach, however, for swimming is a bit shallow, but there is another beach to swimm very close. The staff is helpful, they book us other tours and transport. The only problem was the water, sometimes run out and they have to wait a bit to fill up the tank, but this only happened once and it seems to be a general problem in El Nido, same as the slow Internet.

Rustic and rusty
We prepaid for a 3 night stay and were pleasantly surprised the first night. Amazing views!! Unfortunately our daughter got sick and the water to the second floor was not pumping which made for a very difficult situation... vomiting, diarrhea and no running water. "walang tubig." We asked for a refund for the other nights and after much negotiating got most of it back. "walang tubig, walang bayad" - "No water, no pay." The manager was not sympathetic, almost argumentative and had an attitude.

Pretty poor apart from location!
Apart from the fact that I had a beach front bungalow and I just stepped out onto the beautiful beach from my room.....that's the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Firstly even though requested my room didn't get cleaned for the 3 nights I stayed there. There was no wifi to the rooms and even in the reception the wifi was very poor. No hot water from the shower and the breakfast buffet was very avaerge. Lack of helpfulness from the staff and went to hire a motorbike from them and took one look at the quality of the bikes and walked away and hired from another place 100 meters up the road. Not the hotels fault but be warned on this beach there are also residents houses who keep chickens and dogs. Therefore had dogs barking until about 2 am and then the cockerels crowing from about 4am. Suffice to say I didn't get much sleep for the 3 nights I stayed here.

Nice hotel on the beach
Don't expect a lot but you get all you need here. I had a suite with balcony which allowed me to see the great sunsets. But even if you don't have one of those the out door public dining area has amazing view. The buffet breakfast is great to start your day and is included. You're only a short trike ride into town from here. The staff are great and if your not fussy you'll enjoy it
