Our stay was very good.
We contacted them via the email requested from Hotels.com and arranged a car to pick us up from the airport. It was there for us as requested and saved us from the many taxi drivers hassling for fares. We are intrepid travelers in our 30's and found it the easiest way to find transport at the same amount had we taken a cab.
The area is what it is and if you have business in Anatanarivo then you know where you need to be. If you are there only for an overnight as we were, then you won't be venturing out except to be driven somewhere. Anatanarivo is a hilly city with winding confusing streets that, if you're local would be simple to navigate but don't think about driving or walking, take a cheap taxi that the front desk can call for you.
The room was very clean and comfortable with a little (stand and look) balcony. The only thing, and as mentioned in other reviews, is that there is nothing but bamboo roll-down blinds separating the bathroom/toilet from the room and bed only a couple of feet away, so ALL noises are heard. In order to provide some privacy one wore headphones and listened to loud music while the other went about their bathroom rituals.
If you are infirm/have a lot of baggage, the stairs will be tiring for you. There are a lot from the street and then more to the rooms - we were on the third floor - without an elevator.
We ate dinner on the resto patio. The service, pizzas and breakfast were great. WiFi was very fast!
