Southwark Hotel & Apartments

Clean and tidy. Reception staff are helpful. Also, city centre is a short walk (15 min). Lots if options for dining within the area. Will go back here again if we'll be in town.

Always enjoy staying at Southwark Apartments. It's so central so can walk around in Central Christchurch. The only drawback because of this is that it's sometimes a noisy area, especially on weekends

Very noisy, could not sleep

Very disappointed with the lack of service provided. Apartment was cold (having Heatpump on before check in would have been appreciated as freezing day), no heater in 2nd room, no staff knowledge of local attractions or provision of information, no dishwashing liquid, no fresh milk, annoying buzzing noise all night in bedroom, no one at reception in early evening despite been told someone on reception 24/7, no understanding by staff of basic questions, no communication that could check in early but told next day when asked if could leave car in Carpark that we had to pay for till next guest check in @1pm that no couldn’t has new guests might check in early (like 11am?!). Most of the other car parks were empty. If room had been cheap and carpark free I would understand but when you pay for the most expensive apartment AND had to pay extra for parking one would expect better service. So check in early (receptionist said guests could check in at 11am! Highly unlikely I know) to make most of paid parking as they certainly won’t be helpful the next day. Staff should have knowledge of city sightseeing features or at least be able to provide information to guests when asked. Certainly won’t be recommending this place to other people visiting Christchurch-lots of competition for accommodation in Christchurch so much better options in town who might understand they are in a SERVICE industry.

value for money was great for an innercity overnight stay . clean and quiet . Only real negative was I booked a parking spot which turned out to be down the street in a very open outdoor area with no type of security or cameras so was not to happy with this .

Everything was perfect, except our room which is right next to the entrance access. A bit annoying hearing people in and out the whole night and early in the morning

Clean, relaxing, friendly and warm. With glimpses of the mountains from the room, it’s the perfect getaway off the main road

Apartment was great except for the dirty rag found in the shower when we went to our room and the stench of urine in the bathroom.

I liked everything about the property. Was central to everywhere i wanted to go. As this was my first visit to beautiful Christchurch the staff were so helpful. Always smiling and friendly. Next time i come down to christchurch i will definitely be staying at Southwark Apartments.
