Very close from the train terminal, small room, clean. There is no elevator from the first floor, the elevator is on the 2nd floor., so if you have heavy luggage it’s complicated....
Pro: convenient location Con: no check-in instruction at all and was difficult to locate the hotel.. it’s hidden in a restaurant. And check in counter was at another hotel in the group
Beautiful room, very clean and staff are friendly. The location is fantastic and overall, very satisfied. Highly recommended.
I would NOT recommend the Apartments! It was barely better than some of the hostel experiences I’ve had. And for how expensive it was, we should have had a better place. When we arrived we found out that breakfast was not already included, and we would need to pay more for it. We were also told about city taxes. So we had to pay even more than we originally thought. Once we got into our room I was very disappointed with the cleanliness- the trash cans had trash still in them and there was hair in the sink and shower... it made be concerned whether the sheets had even been changed, that’s when I noticed dark stains on the comforters. Again, this is unacceptable. Additionally, our key card would not work on three separate occasions. The first time we thought we may have had it too close to our phones, so we started to be very careful on where to keep the keys... and then we had the problem two more times :/ EXTREMELY inconvenient. We spoke to hotel staff about these problems and we were told a note would be made. Not very helpful! Overall, it was not an enjoyable experience and quite expensive— a waste of money!
Beautiful apartment central location. Highly recommend to stay here. Not idea of you have a rental car.
The rooms are okay but there is NO air conditioning and it was hard to sleep at night. The have little fans but not so great. The hallways are super hot and all the rooms. At night there was a bright light on from the building across so we couldn't sleep for both reasons. There is no check in desk here, you have to check in at another building so it's a pain but they had breakfast there each day (you have to pay though) the staff at the restaurant was friendly and the food was descent. I probably wouldn't stay here again. You have to carry your luggage up to your room, there is a lift once you get to the 2nd floor but it didn't work at times and the stairs are slanted/old and the rooms are blah. We thought overall it was so so, descent location and all but not the greatest place we've ever stayed.
Tiny room that looked out onto a wall. You don't go to Switzerland to get a window that opens onto a wall. The ceilings are really low and it's hot. No air conditioning and just a little fan for the room. The hotel is central and in a good spot in old town, although the room was simply somewhere to leave you bag and then come back to go to sleep. Nothing else. On check-out, they re-charged us for the full stay and the deposit on the first night then takes 14 days to get your money back to you. So basically, they hold an extra nights' accomodation until it gets refunded. I have never had this before.
No air con in a heat wave .crappy push together single beds to make a double.Noisy
This is not a hotel but very small serviced rooms away from the main hotel which looks after it. No clear instructions to find how to get in. It’s at the krone hotel after a local told me where to go. Our room was on the 4th floor with no air conditioning, room temperature of 38oC. Found a fan that you needed to ask where it was as the manager did not explain anything. Rude manager at front desk and very unhelpful. It’s says they valet park! Misleading as they charge you just to park your car on the road somewhere. Do not book this as our rate for the night was a rip-off. Very unhappy with our stay and possibly the worst experience of a hotel on Expedia. Lucerne is fantastic though.
I can see why this place is cheaper than an Ibis. The room had a bed and a chair. Not even a tiny table. That sucked. To do my work, I sat on the edge of the bed and had my laptop on the chair, along with my water and sandwich. That sucked. But it had a coffee machine. That was great. It had a room safe and a fridge. That was good. It had an excellent outlook overlooking an historic plaza. That was good. It was in an excellent location in Lucerne. That was great. I had to drag my suitcase up a metal spiral suitcase before reaching the tiny slow elevator that I didn’t use again. That sucked. The reception for this hotel was in another nearby hotel which meant dragging my suitcase over cobbled streets. That sucked. The bed was really hard. That sucked. It was a short walk to the main Lucerne station and Co-op (food store). That was good. If you’re happy to share a chair, and then eat off it after you’ve moved your clothes to the bed, then you’ll love its location. It’s still and expensive hotel … but cheap for Lucerne. Would I go back again? Probably not. There were many goods to the Altstadt, but for me, the lack of even a basic teeny-weeny, itsy-bitsy table tipped the scales to “Sucks”.
