Lovely lake-facing room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed. Spacious shower with lots of hot water. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the convent and funicular. The walk back up from town could be a bit challenging for older or unfit people, but we enjoyed it.

A vacation from our vacation!

We took a quick overnight to Locarno from our Italy vacation and I’m so glad we did!! The room was comfortable and clean the view awesome. The staff friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant and bar. Also the food top notch from aperitif to dinner and breakfast best we have had in Europe so far!!!

Excellent hotel for quality of service and amenities. Well maintained condition , very clean. Lovely garden area to relax and use the pool. We travelled by train and only down side was the steep uphill walk to get to the hotel from station. Only 10 mins but hard going with luggage. Hotel provided a free public bus ticket on check in which was great for getting around the local area.

Im Grossen und Ganzen war es ein sehr schönes Hotel und der Aufenthalt war schön. Insbesondere hat uns der tolle Pool sowie der Garten überzeugt. Es gab ein paar Kleinigkeiten, die unseren Aufenthalt nicht perfekt gemacht haben: Beispielsweise hatten wir Ameisen im Zimmer. Zudem war die Kommunikation nicht optimal; wir haben am ersten Vormittag gemeldet, dass eine Reinigung nicht nötig ist (wir waren erst am Abend angekommen) und dass wir gerne eine zweite Decke hätten. Als wir dann am späteren Nachmittag zurück ins Hotel sind, war das Zimmer trotzdem gereinigt worden und für die Decke mussten wir ein zweites Mal anfragen. Bei der Abreise haben wir etwas liegen lassen, was das Hotel uns nachschickt - wir müssen jedoch den Versand bezahlen. Es handelt sich nicht um einen grossen Betrag (unter CHF 10), aber umso mehr hätte ich erwartet, dass das Hotel dies übernimmt. Ein wenig enttäuscht waren wir vom Frühstück, da dieses sehr gut bewertet wurde, aber vielleicht hatten wir einfach bisher überdurchschnittlich gutes Frühstück. Insgesamt hätte ich den Aufenthalt mit stabilen 8 von 10 bewertet.

Das Personal war aussergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Wir haben sogar kostenlos ein Upgrade auf ein besseres Zimmer erhalten, was unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hat. Der Spa-Bereich ist zwar eher klein, bietet aber alles, was man zum Entspannen braucht, und ist sehr gepflegt. Das Stadtzentrum erreicht man bequem in etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuss, sodass die Lage ideal für einen Städtetrip ist. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir auch den kostenlosen Shuttle-Service des Hotels zum Bahnhof. Sowohl die Organisation als auch die pünktliche Abholung haben einwandfrei funktioniert und waren ein toller zusätzlicher Service. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt und können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Die Lage ist top. Zu Fuss in ca. 14 Minuten auf der Piazza Grande, oder in 5 Minuten bequem mit dem Madonna del SASSO Bähnchen. Schöne Aussicht auf den See. Frühstück ist ok aber nicht speziell. Tische drinnen und draussen. Nettes Grotto beim Pool, mit Traubengebüsch und guter Bedienung für Getränke und Kleinigkeiten.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen, oberhalb der Stadt Locarno, an einem Hang mit toller Aussicht. Besonders positiv ist, dass man das Stadtzentrum in etwa fünf Minuten zu Fuss erreichen kann, was sehr praktisch ist. Auch der Spabereich sowie die Gartencafés sind sehr hübsch. Einzig ein kleines Gym. Einziger wirklicher Minuspunkt ist jedoch der Rückweg: Vom Zentrum zurück ins Hotel muss man einen ziemlich steilen Aufstieg in Kauf nehmen, was je nach Kondition etwas anstrengend sein kann. Zusätzlich fährt eine Bahn in unmittelbarer Nähe, die grundsätzlich eine grosse Erleichterung wäre – leider hält sie beim Hotel Hotel Belvedere Locarno nur auf Anfrage. Eine reguläre Haltestelle wäre hier wirklich ein grosser Mehrwert für Gäste. Was ebenfalls nicht so toll ist: Für den Preis des Hotels hätte ich einen modernen, gut funktionierenden Fernseher erwartet. Leider ist der TV im Zimmer sehr alt, verfügt weder über Netflix noch über ein zeitgemässes Smart-TV-System. Das entspricht nicht ganz dem Standard, den man in dieser Preiskategorie erwarten darf. Achtung Parkplatz kostet noch zusätzlich CHF15.- pro Tag was wir leider nicht wussten bzw nicht gesagt wurde. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Hotel mit toller Lage und ein entspannender Aufenthalt– mit kleinen, aber spürbaren Verbesserungspotenzialen.
