We thought we had reserved a room in the Miramonte Hotel, but they put us in an apartment building just up the road. It was very nice. Comfortable. Lots of room for what we would expect. The neighborhood was great, with restaurants right there, a small grocery store, a bakery just up the road, and a great view of the Valtournenche valley and the Alps. It was a short drive from the Beuil-Cervino ski area, which is at the base of the Matterhorn (Mount Cervino). We parked the car and hiked up almost 2000 ft to an amazing view of the mountains. The weather was perfect at the end of Sept. Cool and mostly clear. Between the touristy seasons, so quiet enough, and the Pizza was the best we had in Italy. The local food, especially the gnocchi and steak, was also incredible. Out of three weeks of traveling in France and Italy, this was our favorite place of all. The hotel staff was very helpful, spoke english well, made us feel welcome. Only thing to know is that you have to arrange ahead to use the kitchen stove and have to pay for it. So we didn't use. Hot water made for great showers. Comfortable beds. Internet worked great. Fresh air at night with windows open (didn't need A/C) was nice and crisp-start of Fall. Great family stay.
