Innovatively designed hotel situated in a quiet area with a nice dining room for eating in, and good breakfast. On the negative side, the bed lamps are ineffective with a very small bulb pointing upwards that could not be adjusted without risk of damage. I would prefer to see dedicated recycling bins in the rooms instead of an instruction to place recyclable items on the table, which I suspect may not be followed by everyone. The beds seem pretty old and would benefit from an upgrade. It would be good to have more plants in the corridor, as I believe there were in the past.

Comfortable and convenient
The hotel location is very convenient. Good breakfast is included. The hotel has an old section with not so good rooms. But I was upgraded to a nicer room in the newer section of the hotel which was much better. I don't particularly like integrated showers that wet the whole bathroom. But it seems to be common in Europe.

There is NOTHING to eat or drink at this hotel from 10 am until 5:30 pm. No cafe, room service or even a vending machine. The only liquid to drink is water from the sink. No microwave or refrigerator in rooms. We arrived hungry and thirsty and were miserable until the over-priced restaurant opened at 5:30 pm. If you don't have car or don't call a taxi, you will go hungry and thirsty.

Not Pleasant
This is an older hotel under the Best Western brand, and its dated quality extends to the attitudes of its staff. On a sunny day, the room gets very warm. Since the building is probably well insulated, it stays that way. There's no air conditioning, and when I went downstairs to ask for a fan, I was told they were all out. So I was stuck sleeping with the windows flung wide open, but no real change in temperature. There's also no vending machines, and their restaurant closes early. I asked the elderly woman at the reception desk if I could please have some ice water. She obliged, nicely enough. I went downstairs a couple hours later and made the same request to the gentleman who replaced her on a new shift. He asked if the previous woman had charged me. I said "no". He said he'll see what he could do. He came back with some ice water, but before handing it to me, made sure I understood that this was the last free one I would get, and he'd have to charge me from now on. I stayed in my room the rest of the night, and vowed never to stay at this hotel again when I'm in Denmark.
These rooms can get unpleasantly warm on sunny days.

Der var meget koldt på værelset og på gangene. Kunne heldigvis åbne for varmen på værelset. Vi overnattede kun og kender derfor ikke deres restaurant og faciliteter. Morgenmaden var lidt skrabet.

Et sted jeg gerne kommer igen
Overordnet føler jeg mig godt tilpas, når jeg kommer til Hotel Hillerød. Der er god parkeringsplads lige uden for. Personalet i receptionen møder en med et smil. De er positive, imødekommende og ikke mindst er de gode til at tilgodese mine behov. Gangen med værelser ligner et hyggeligt gårdmiljø. Ved morgenbuffeten så jeg både familier med babyer og gangbesværede med rollator eller kørestol. Jeg bemærkede også, at personalet hjalp en enlig kørestolsbruger med at få mad og drikke fra morgenbuffeten. Jeg har brugt hotellet flere gange gennem de sidste 10 år og vender gerne tilbage.

Rigtig godt og knap så godt..
Personalet var høflig og hjælpsomme. Rigtig gode parkeringsforhold. Der er pænt rengjort over det hele og morgenmaden var ganske god. Værelserne er meget rummelige med en god atmosfære og har det fornødne udstyr. Tilstanden er dog efterhånden noget slidt og sengen var desværre direkte forfærdelig, medmindre man foretrækker at ligge på fjedre. Jeg skulle heldigvis kun tilbringe 1 enkelt nat og prøver nok et andet hotel næste gang.
