Barclay

The hotel is perfectly livable but could use a refresh. Flooring, furniture, bathrooms all look like they've been around the block a few times. Our room also had that distinct smell of smoking once having been allowed. But here's where we got screwed. Checked into our Premium room, with a clearly pregnant wife and a 5 year-old. It was a Saturday. Around midnight music started being audible, and from 1am the level of noise woke us all up. This was coming from a nightclub situated in the same building. Went downstairs and told I couldn't sleep. "Is it because of the music?" was the reply. WHO ACCOMMODATES A FAMILY TO SLEEP ON TOP OF A NIGHTCLUB, KNOWINGLY? We got a new room which was smaller. In the morning I was charged for the Premium one we couldn't sleep in. I complained and left my email address, heard nothing back. Go at your own risk.

Everything was generally fine. The circumstance I liked the most was the location of the hotel. The city center is really few meters away. As ethnic Russian, I also enjoyed the presence of the monument of Barclay de Tolly* in front of the hotel :). Staff at the reception was friendly, breakfast (especially porrige) was delicious, beds were comfortable, ventilation quiet. The hotel itself is situated in a historical building, what makes a cozy 'old-fashioned' atmosphere. The only negative remark I would have concerns a bit untidy water tap at the bathroom. And I also should say that the parking meter in the hotel's patio is quite small (up to three cars may be safely parked). Construction outside the door was annoying. Breakfast was just ok. Staff very friendly

I have stayed in the Barclay before. The location is good and it has a bit of history but it is getting shabby and could do with a bit of modernising. I arrived early and despite the fact that the hotel had very few guests was not able to get my room until 2pm. The room faced the back and was quiet. There seemed to be very little staff. When I went to breakfast the next morning, there was no staff to be seen, just 4 people sitting down so I just helped myself to a typical but ordinary European breakfast. Eventually someone came and I gave my room number. The staff were helpful when needed but as I said, there were few of them. Next visit I will stay somewhere else.

Old but good value for money. Downtown hotel so all restaurants and services are just around the corner. Dogs were very welcome. Parking spots were limited and bit hard to find. If you like to sleep at night, this is not the hotel for you. Next door night club music is very loud and party sounds from streets can be heard very late. Otherwise ok.

Keskitason hotelli, joka sijaitsee lähellä vanhan kaupungin keskustaa. Huoneet ovat hyvin varustellut. Huoneiden värimaailma voisi olla hiukan valoisampi. Huone vaihdettiin kun kassakaappi ja oven lukko eivät toimineet. Virolaiseen tyyliin hotellin johto ei kuitenkaan vaihtanut huonetta parempaan, vaikka aikaa kului aika paljon. Muutoin palvelu ihan hyvää.

Hyä sijainti ja etenkin vallihaudan puolella hiljaiset huoneet. Moottoripyörän saimme sisäpihalle ilmaiseen parkkiin ja sieltä oli kätevä siirtyä vastaanottoon. Suihkussa hyvät vesipaineet ja lämmintä vettä riittää.

Mukava pieni hotelli, loistava sijainti keskustassa.

Tuba oli väheke väsinud, radiaator tundus, et oli katki. Muidu voodid mugavad.
