Hintlesham Hall was an extravagance for us, but worth every penny. We stayed in a very large room in the stable block with a sofa and easy chair. The service in the hotel was excellent, attentive (but not too much!) Breakfasts were good and the dinners excellent - consistently good food across the menu - three of us ate three dinners and everything we chose was beautifully cooked and presented. The grounds are lovely, and it would be great to sit outside at a warmer time of year. There were several lovely rooms to sit indoors, though. The afternoon teas looked delicious, but as we had eaten so well at breakfast we enjoyed delicious tea and scones to tide us over until dinner. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Sadly expectation was not upheld
A beautiful period building in a beautiful location. Furnishing and decor sympathetically in keeping with the period in history. The welcome was warm and friendly. The bedroom was well equipped and comfortable although the provision of toiletries was minimal for a stay of more than one day/night. A hair dryer was provided but not situated conveniently to an electrical socket. One of the radiators had been leaking making the carpet wet which not pleasant underfoot. When this was pointed out a space heater was placed in the room however this was non-functional. In the dining room the dinner was, on the whole, tasty and beautifully presented. When the waiting staff were asked specifics about the dishes they were ill-informed, saying either, 'I don't like the particular item' or, I don't know the composition' of certain dishes ! Items which had been ordered had been forgotten therefore the staff had to be reminded. The halibut was overcooked and quite dry. At breakfast the fruit was, disappointingly, not fresh. The pancakes and scrambled eggs were barely warm, the eggs delivered swiftly as if it had been already cooked and held in that state. Also tasting as if produced from dried, or similar, egg. It was definitely not made from freshly cracked eggs. One of the most delightful features of our stay was the wonderful gentle piano playing, by the lady in the entrance conservatory. I am bound to say that, having read the rating, I was expecting more attention to detail.

Fantastic hotel.
Had a 1 night stay here for work purposes. Hotel was really nice & clean throughout with friendly staff from arrival to check out. The room i stayed in was a good size with a large ensuite bathroom, coffee machine & pods & a good sized comfy bed. I didnt eat in the hotel so cant comment on the food but it did smell nice however i did have a drink in the lounge area which was again a nice comfortable place to sit & relax. Would happily stay here again should i be in the area again either for work or pleasure.

Mmmmm.
The hotel building is quite grand with some beautiful features however it is a little ‘post covid’ with tired decor, too few staff and neglected gardens. The first small bedroom we were offered was decorated in full on vivid lilac, not a colour that appeals to everyone, certainly not us. We paid an extra £30 for a larger neutral colour room, with a tired very poorly designed bathroom. Our afternoon tea was good and generous, however having booked, we didn’t seem to be expected, the service was rather slow. Breakfast was good, when it arrived. This hotel seems to be trying to gain customers with its wedding packages and theme nights etc. but it all seems rather stuck in the 1980s. The customer service needs to improve. There are no lifts and many stairs and different floor levels so not suitable for anyone with disabilities. I don’t think we’d return.
