Nope.
We were looking forward to this stay but quickly realized some of the previous reviews were correct. For $400 a night, one would expect a clean room, clean sheets, and a shower that drains properly but instead our door combo didn’t work and we had to request several times for assistance because they were more concerned about trick or treaters than their paying guest. Our bathroom had several bugs in it but literally no one is working between 9pm and 1130am. The overview should say that it’s a b and b because the accommodations aren’t there. Our shower didn’t drain and when we told a member of staff, she just said “oh”. No apology or anything. Again… $400 a night! And finally, there were stains on the duvet that looked like blood.

Overall a good stay
The decor and ambiance are great, very close to Salem and friendly staff. The outside traffic is very loud. The elevator only goes to the 2nd floor and our room was on the 3rd. Also, when we went to get in bed we found the sheets covered in black hairs. I was able to find someone to get me clean ones so I could remake the bed...not exactly what I wanted to be doing at 10pm.

The cutest inn. The room was clean and cosy. Staff was great- Tyler the bartender was GREAT, he was friendly, offered amazing service, and was knowledgeable about the area when we had questions. I will make this recommendation for travelers- if you are arriving before 11am and want to come in early to either leave your bags or check in, just contact the property beforehand to let them know. Since it is an inn vs. a large hotel they are not staffed round the clock so you can’t go in at any hour without the door code (which for security services is actually great). I would recommend and we’d stay there again.

6/10 Good

I’ve waited to write this and don’t know where to start. We walked into a room with no duvet cover, just a dirty insert, a piece of sew-in weave hair on the ground, missing drinks from the fridge, and a very moldy shower curtain. We let them know but it was never remedied. Not good. They offered to buy us dinner but were so understaffed, and using paper tickets, so we got tired and went elsewhere. Then came screaming seagulls being fed outside DAILY at 5 am, then the 4 am fire alarm that evacuated us all night 2, but was never explained. They also didn’t tell us that you have to press a tiny black dot to lock your room, so it was open the entire time. Safe! The staff was nice but they come in too late and they overbook for the staff they do have. All hospitality went out the window! Cups upstairs were visibly dirty, they only offer cheap Keurig coffee, and it was just a huge let down for us. If you have allergies, whoever renovated this place is inexperienced. There’s cracked grout and uneven tile all through the shower, and the shower head sprays directly onto improperly sealed original windows. Talk about a mold bomb lurking behind those walls. It was NOT a five-star experience, which was my reason for moving us here, but we should’ve stayed at the Hawthorne. With more staff and attention to detail, this could’ve been nice. I was also charged for the missing drinks, and overcharged by $100 in taxes. They got it back to me, but it took several calls. Don’t expect high-end!

The property itself was very cute- your typical vintage Inn with a tavern underneath. Upkept nicely and staff was great- the only thing I would note is that it was very cold in the attic suite we stayed in. Staff advised the heat wasn't on yet for winter and tried to assist but the thermostat in my room was broken. Other than that, our stay was comfortable :)

Great place to stay. Very nice and unique. Great food in restaurant. We had the haddock. It would have been nice to have a mirror in the bedroom and small wastebasket. The window was open to get some fresh air inside but extremely noisy all night! 5:12 am there was a delivery to the Inn. Extremely loud truck.

I would say this comes close to being one of my favorite hotel stays ever. The room was clean, modern, welcoming, and cozy. The amenities were great- the breakfast provided in the morning by the coffee bar was awesome! Staff was extremely friendly. The whole building itself was very charming. I have already recommended to friends and family who are thinking of visiting this area. It was a quick drive to Salem. I loved it here. Thank you for a fantastic stay!
