Hotel Riviera

Location was excellent, not too far to walk from the train station, and central to lots of good restaurants. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The location of the hotel is excellent, on the front overlooking the Ligurian Sea. Central Rapallo isn’t large; restaurants, bars etc are all within easy walking distance. The train station is less than 10 minutes on foot. The main road along the sea front in Rapallo runs to the side of the hotel and although usually busy, the noise of the traffic is not intrusive. The staff at The Riviera are very friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The bedroom my wife and I had booked was comfortable but not plush; it didn’t encourage us to linger although it was ok for somewhere to put our heads down for the night. Whilst not the height of luxury, for the price The Riviera Hotel isn’t a bad place from which to explore the Ligurian Riviera.

Train trip to rapallo went smoothly and there are bus connections to Genova too. Hotel riveria situated on edge of lovely Promenade but away from traffic. Clean comfortable modern rooms. We had a walk in shower. Air con, sea view with tiny balcony, lift. Adequate breakfast. Found the hotel staff and owners very welcoming. Rapallo sea front suffered a lot of damage in a huge storm Oct 2018 and commune are working to repair it. You can't get a ferry from there but there are various buses and trains. We walked along coast road Santa Margherita Liguria and took ferry to Portofino. Lots of lovely villages to see. Rapallo has certain events planned for summer. Lots of little shops, bars, and restaurants. Eating and drinking can be expensive if you dont look around Have already recommended hotel riveria in Rapallo to all my friends

Great location on the sea front and walkable distance to sights and rail station

I was really happy and thrilled of the location of the hotel. Ocean front property, located in a nice shopping area and banks are really close. The train station is only a 10 min walk away and many restaurants seriously within a few mins from the hotel. The hotel is dated, but clean and well kept. My only issue was the first day of arrival when i inquired about the bathtub I requested when i upgraded to the ocean front/view room. When I arrived, I was told my room did not have a tub and I was a little, okay a lot put out. I asked for another room and the reception clerk told me there were no other rooms with a tub. I asked him the hotel has only one bathtub and I was told yes. Okay... I went to the room and decided to change hotels, but then the reception called and said they have another room with a tub. I did not hesitate to move my belongings to the new room. The rooms were nice and spacious with a fabulous view of the Med Sea. After that encounter with the accommodations of the bathtub, the service was excellent. It is family owned and they do put great effort and pride in maintaining their hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I do not hesitate to recommend this location and hotel. We were able to travel to Genoa, Turin, Cirque Terra, Portofino, Santa Margarita from Rapallo. The restaurant attached to the hotel is a superb. Highly recommend eating there.

This is an old European style hotel, complete with the half pound brass key fob. Our room had 2 rooms which was great for having luggage open and making all the mess away from the bedroom. Also had sea view and a huge terrace with furniture. There are plenty of restaurants in the town of Rapallo, and Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino are a 5 minute train ride away for a further choice of bars and restaurants.

We loved the area.It was ideally located to train station,bus station and resort areas

The hotel is clean, friendly staff and in a really good location to see Rapallo and access the surrounding area from the nearby ferry point (two minutes walk away).

Really enjoyed our 6 night stay here. Location is perfect, close to the beach, ferries, buses and train station. The service was fantastic and they even ungraded our room at no extra charge.

Friendly staff and great setting. A lovely historic feel.
