Good room, fair price. Fitness room has a treadmill and a couple of other things. No weights. But it is open. Complimentary coffee 25 hours. Waffle House walking distance.
Cool and relaxing
Noisy. Music. Footsteps. Doors banging. Voices all night
When we checked in we were in a smoking room not a non-smoking room as we thought we had booked. We were able to get a non smoking room for extra dollars.
My wife and I encountered two “serious” problems right away! There seemed to be no effort by management to enforce the pandemic precaution that required mask wearing by lodgers. People walked continuously in and out of the lobby without masks! Second problem involved cleanliness: Lobby restroom was dirty (floor, commode and sink), and there were discarded paper towels scattered on the floor and on top of the disposal can. This was the lobby restroom! Ultimately, we chose to forfeit what we had pre-paid for the first night’s stay, cancelled the reservation, and moved to another “more favorable” motel. Management at Microtel did agree to refund the amount pre-paid for the second night in our reservation, thanks to the intervention of customer service at Hotels.com.
Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything especially all the guests yelling. No breakfast at all not even prepackaged.
I was locked in my room from a faulty door. Had to wait over an hour for the manager to arrive to unlock the office where they store the crow bar to break guests out of the hotel rooms. Front desk personnel didn't even apologize and seemed put out by the whole thing. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Management didn't even ask if there was something she could do to make the inconvenience up to me.
The room smell like urine and the mattress had a peculiar odor. I told the manager that and they simply said OK! Hopefully I don't contract any disease
Location was good with eating facilities available in near surrounds. The improvement recommendations during this time is that the breakfast offering choice was terrible. One little item with not so good juice from a machine. Coffee was ok from the pot on the counter in lobby. Bathroom towels were the really cheap kind, hard and rough. Best advice to travelers: bring your own.
The stay was one of our better choices in hotels. The only draw back was the spare comforter had cigarette burn holes. It quite and very clean. Bed was soft.
