Great place to stay in a fantastic town to visit
Fantastic stay in Room 10 with enclosed veranda and view of the harbour in a corner room with windows on 2 sides. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. The Inn was in an excellent location and free parking close by on the street. Really enjoyed the room and the town. Get 15% discount on the Walking Tour if you mention the Rum Runner Inn which was a highlight of the visit.

In the heart of Lunenburg.
The Rumrunner in couldn’t be more perfectly located on the waterfront of Lunenburg. The room was spacious, very comfortable, with a wonderful balcony and tremendous views. I think the only negative was the tarp on the roof from a previous storm came down and impinged on our side view after a serious windstorm. Tim and his daughter Haley were very friendly and helpful.

Call hotel to inquire of your room view!!
Hotel is in a great location & very clean. My only complaint was that upon check in, they were not forthcoming about the roof tarp hanging down over a portion of my scenic waterfront window. They were aware of this, and housekeeping told me about another room also affected. If you are paying more $$ to stay in that type of room. MY ADVICE is to call ahead and make sure it’s been fixed, if not AVOID room #8. (Note* housekeeping said room #10 was also affected with tarps in their window)

Handy location
It was a great location. No complaints or concerns, room was small which we knew when we booked. Bathroom is particularly small with no counterspace. We received numerous reminder emails before arrival regarding the focus on being a quiet hotel, no noise. We were a couple but definitely not suitable for children with this focus.

Historic old town charm
Lunenberg is a quaint city. The hotel is in the middle of old town so easy to walk to all the little shops. Most of the restaurants seemed to specialize in fried foods but… The hotel is an a historic building. It is clean and the desk person was great. The bed was a bit firm. This is not a luxury hotel but if you aren’t looking for that then this place is great.

Located centrally in the downtown you never needed your car. Rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. Balcony overlooking the harbor was a plus. Staff was very helpful when we needed extra coffee and cream and in giving ideas for dinner.

Rumrunner is right on the main street of Lindenberg, which makes it very easy to walk to the harbor which the backside faces, including a little veranda that you can sit on and look at the water if you don’t have a waterfront view from your room which we did not. Great restaurants and shopping right out the door. We went on an excellent walking tour of Lunenburg easy to reach on foot charming town great history. Our room had super comfortable bed and great shower The only reason I give this a four and not a five is that the entrance/reception area and first floor where owners live could be improved to be more charming not cluttered, carpeting on stairs is dayed/brown indistrial with detracts from the rest of the charm od the oropert.
