This is a locally owned hotel! Smaller hotel but it was clean and nice. There is a cafe/…
Staff was friendly. Place was clean but furniture was awkwardly large for the room.

This is a locally owned hotel that has an old fashioned Waikiki feel, its better suited as a commuter hotel than for leisure travel.
I like the surroundings, close to everything. Walking distance. Will stay here again, staff was very pleasant & super helpful. Good place to stay, my only negative was the bathroom was small
steep stairs to access/carry your luggage to lobby where there is an elevator. On a busy street with a narrow limited access parking lot. Uber pickups have some challenges because they either have to hold up traffic while you jump in or manage an awkward turn around in the parking area. Street noise and bar noise from the lobby can be heard in your room. Very nice staff and convenient location.
The location is awesome. Enjoyed the complimentary welcome “Aloha” drink. Room is clean, cool and relaxing. Mahalo
The rooms are very well put together, and are very clean. We stayed on the second floor, right outside the resort. They had musicians play live contemporary music both nights we stayed, which was loud, but nice to fall asleep to. The staff was friendly and helpful, be prepared to spend an addition $30 a day for parking and a mandatory $25 resort fee.
It’s the only hotel in Waikiki still owned by a local, it is the only authentic place, all the rest is big corporations. The owner is present and he shares local stories about lots of topics that are one more interesting than the other. Simple but true.
Friendly, family style service. A lovely reminder of the advantages of a family owned smaller hotel. Instead of the sometimes impersonal service by staff at a large, corporate resort the atmosphere at the Equus is more like staying with friends and family.
was ok.
The only thing I didn’t like was the a/c didn’t produce a large amount of cold air so you had to leave it on full blast for several hours before you felt the effects.
Amazing experience. Highly recommend
