Fairmont gold hits the mark
Excellent stay at the Fairmont gold. Staff were super friendly. Food at the lounge was great. Extra points for the bonus charcuterie board, cookies, and chocolates in the room upon arrival.

Not gold experience more like Silver
Beds were great and bedding was very nice. Overall very minimal on luxury and poor room maintenance. Blackout blinds broken, bathroom door would not close, drawer slides broken and bathrobe had lipstick stains on them. The gold experience was definitely not worth the extra cost. The cocktail hour does not include drinks?? Never stayed in an executive room that charged for drinks during the cocktail hour.

Hot in the city
I love staying here, it is always such a treat!! My room was clean, lovely, comfortable, except it was very warm. Even after turning the thermostat to 16 it remained very warm the whole time. The same problem on my last stay here.I love the gold lounge, always feel like I'm treated like a princess!!

Gold lounge great - rooms tired
We love Fairmont hotels and stay in the gold lounge whenever possible. This hotel is in dire need of updating. The lobby has tacky decor and needs to be remodeled. Our room was large, but smelled of stale cigarettes. The carpet was ripped, the curtains were falling off the tracks (and were so smelly and yellow) and the bathtub had a disgusting ring of very visible black mold. I cannot say enough about the incredible staff in the gold lounge. Every single person there was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed having access to the lounge which made our stay more enjoyable.
