Hu. Hotel

There was no cold water. It was scalding even if the cold water was scalding. Couldn’t take a shower because even after running the water for 20 minutes there was no relief. Front desk staff was very apologetic.

Older hotel with character. Very clean. We were very comfortable during our stay. Conveniently located. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We have been visiting Memphis almost monthly for years and try to alway stay at the Madison Hotel...however since the “remodel” and name change it has been a big disappointment. This is the 3rd or 4th time since the remodel that we’ve stayed and we’ve always given them the benefit of the doubt thinking “they’re still getting things back to right”. After this latest trip we will not be going back. The elevators weren’t working so we used the stairs (3rd floor luckily) every single time we needed to leave our room. One of the guys helping get people organized and checked in literally walked outside and lit up a joint. I don’t have a problem with that except there were multiple people lined up to get a valet and checked out while he’s taking a “smoke” break. Maybe this explains some of the shortcomings of this property. I could go on and on about how bad they’ve messed up what was once our go to hotel but I’ll just say this, there are too many new options in Memphis to put up with the problems at HU Our new stops will be ARRIVE, Hotel Indigo, Hotel Napoleon or the Westin. I hate to say it but the HU has gotten my last travel dollar.

Front desk friendly and helpful. Good location. Nice room/ comfortable bed. Maid service didn’t come first day and second day only made bed and changed towels, but didn’t appear to clean bathroom.

One of two lifts out of order- so a wait of up to 15minutes Valet parking $29 per day- 20 minute wait for the car! No apology from anyone- so assume it to be standard practice

We parked for valet parking and had to get all of our iwn luggage out and into the hotel and still no valet attendant. No shampoo in the room. Restaurant was out of bread and they didn't bring a fork with dessert. Leaving hotel valet attendant was nowhere to be found until after we had already loaded our car. Disappointing, but the roof view wS great.

Location and cleanliness were great. I liked the ability to walk

Elevator broken for stay and lots of guests lining up Need to pick up the level of housekeeping on elevators hallways and guest rooms Staff very friendly and helpful but overwhelmed

View of the Mississippi River. One elevator not working. Put an extra charge on my credit card later in the night after we checked out saying we used the mini bar and we did not.

Great place to stay, great location. We highly recommend for anyone wishing to in the middle of down town
