Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marion

i couldnt believe that this hotel had a "very good" rating. the room was not terrible but wasnt all that great. it had a lot of space, pretty open, but just seemed kinda dirty and old.

Very clean. I recommend it. I spent only a day this time but I visited this location several times and always is very good. Basic breakfast but good.

Upon arrival the front desk struggled getting payment from Expedia. They ran my card for a $10 incidental fee and said they would get payment from Expedia to check again at checkout. Pool was under construction, not mentioned on site. Room

Got there and no reservation, no ice machines, no water pressure. Our friends also arrived with confirmation and no reservation. We will stay somewhere else next year.

Room was clean. Issues we had were the following: #1 pool was closed which was not listed on their website and we wanted a hotel with a pool. #2 no microwave in our room which was a suite and we booked specifically to have a microwave. #3 staff was not apologetic and offered no fixes to the issues. Told us not all rooms have microwaves... but that is why we booked a suite and even checked their site to confirm there was a microwave. #4 we couldn’t even leave and go somewhere else because the hotel already charged our credit card the day before and when we found out all that was wrong we were out of the allowed time to cancel. #5 we emailed holiday inn, no answer back and it has been 3 days. So while the room was clean, staff was not helpful and their website is inaccurate at best. Will not stay there again and may never stay at holiday inn again due to this.

Great in all respects.

The updated room was great except there was no microwave and no refrigerator. When you update, these things that are advertised should be included for sure. Secondly, the service definitely lacked friendly and courteous service. When I checked in to receive my room with a king sized bed, the employee said that you are only guaranteed a room and not the bed you made reservations for. She also went on to say that third party (hotels.com) need to update what they offer and that it is not their responsibility to make sure the customer gets the accommodations they requested. The clerk also stressed that to get the best service I really needed to go through the Holiday Inn website. Through out my stay, she continued to be less then what I used to having at most any other stay at any hotel and I travel frequently.

Front desk person gave us a great place to eat. She was very helpful.

The staff here are fantastic! They are remodeling but handling it gracefully. They have good breakfast, and even offer a to go snack and water to start your day. They have warm cookies at night and a free welcome reception on Tuesdays. The new rooms are clean and comfortable.
