Holiday Inn Express & Suites Byron

The staff was wonderful! So friendly and helpful. We felt the covid precautions were good. The only issue was the air conditioner/fan made a squeaking sound every time it shut off. Kind of like a squeaky door or squeaky shower faucet being turned off. It really got to us by the time we left. We did report it at check out. Room 304.

The hotel was in generally good condition. The elevator was out of order and the internet went out first thing in the morning (making it so I was unable to get work done before starting my day). Be that as it may, the bed was nice and the room was cozy.

The hotel room was dirty and we found a roach crawling around the room! They knew that it was four of us and they only gave us 2 towels. When we told the receptionist about the roach she just told us to leave a review on Expedia! We didn’t even book the hotel from Expedia and that should have been dealt with at the hotel! DO NOT GO HERE!!

Well I like Holiday inn express......usually they provide a clean and comfortable, semi fancy place to stay. I booked through hotels.com upon pulling in to make check in easier and get an extra stamp. Check in was easy but the man helping us wasn’t the friendliest to say the least, no emotion what so ever! Seems like he really didn’t want to be there working. So the room was so-so, smelled like mildew upon entering but the room was clean. The beds were amazingly soft and I sleep great. The place is close to many fast food restaurants and I-75. We got a bfast menu we had to turn in with what we would like for in the morning. We also purchased soda from the same guy up front and he was super Nice this time. We all have bad days. So we hung our “do not disturb” sign on the door so we could sleep in before continuing our journey the next day. But apparently the maid totally disregarded our quest to sleep and repeatedly knocked. That was what pissed me Off. It was somewhat early too. Ugh! Overall the place was a 7 in stars out of 10.

At check in, the person at the front desk said you are welcome to fill out the breakfast form. They didn’t specify that if I didn’t complete the form that I wouldn’t get breakfast. Thankfully I was able to get coffee from an employee. I think future guests should be told, no form no breakfast.

No one at the front desk. Had to call number that no one answered, so I was left to just sit and wait for someone to show back up. Then, after another 5 minutes, I was given a key to a room and it didn't work. Used a hotel phone on the wall to call the front desk but no one answered. Had to go back down and get another key. 20 minutes from arrival to a working key.
