The courtyard rooms are not so good but the service is good. Bed extremely comfy and when I raised an issue itvwas dealt with really well. Staff at dinner were excellent and dinner was very good value and delicious.

A delightful and relaxing place to stay
Our room was wonderful - spacious, immaculately clean, beautifully furnished and with wonderful views from the windows, out across the surrounding countryside. The breakfast was first rate, and really set us up for a day of adventure in the local area. We loved our visit to Makeney Hall and will definitely be back for another stay in a few months.

First room I checked into seemed cold and damp and there was a constant noise of the cistern running Quickly changed to another room thus one was cold and took a good few hours to warm up I left the heater on all night. Cleaners came twice to clean my room at 10am and at 10.49am check out is 11am Food lovely and well presented. Staff friendly lovely old building

Lovely people, building needs some attention.
Really, really lovely people working there, and the exterior of the building and it’s surrounds are beautiful. Inside, away from the main areas, the hotel itself is very tired looking and in need of attention. Bedroom was a little shabby and the bathroom was very, very dated indeed. Breakfast wasn’t the greatest, but actually not as over priced as many hotels can be.

Only had a 1 night stay for a local event. Lovely place to stay in private grounds. The building was very nice although the room in the courtyard was slightly dated and basic but clean and comfortable. We took our dog with us and had an evening meal with friends (8 of us) and they gave us our own private room (a meeting room) which was great and perfect for all of us. Bar staff was very helpful and efficient. Would definitely go back if in the area again.
