Beautiful hotel but needs maintenance

The hotel is beautiful and historic, but the room itself had a lot of issues. Our chrome cast never worked, one of the bedside lamps was broken, and the toilet seat wouldn’t stay up. For that type of hotel and the price, you would expect better. The staff was friendly about it but most of it was never fixed.

Very nice but not as elegant as expected

The location is excellent and everything in the old city is within walking distance, plenty of old buildings and houses from the 1600's, very quaint. Plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from. The rooms were spacious enough and very clean, and the bathroom was nicely lit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Two criticisms would be there was really not a common gathering area with a fireplace, so the lobby lacked a certain elegance, and I thought the rooms were overpriced for what they really delivered, probably because they were marked up substantially for the Christmas holiday.

An iconic place, great stay

Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is one of those iconic places people need to stay at least once in their life time. With an amazing array of activities and amenities and an incredible view of the river and city it is definitely a must if coming to the Christmas market (just steps away). Boost your stay with gold level and you have access to a private lounge where breakfast is included along with afternoon and late night snacks and drinks. Phenomenal service and amazing guest team makes it even better.

Beautiful part of history

Well worth the 5 star price tag. Fabulous location in old Quebec, the team are impeccable and the build a delight. They also run quite a few events so you can learn about the history of the building, or mixology or the kitchen. I highly recommended getting involved in those.

A wonderful hotel!!

We do not write reviews often but just had to comment on the knowledgable staff and sheer grandeur of the Chateau Frontenac. A truly memorable stay for us - we will be back again!!!

ok but pricy

we were 4 friends sharing a room. The room was surprisglyn spacious, but towels, cups soaps etc were just for two. I asked and they brought slippers and robes which we did not asked for or needed
