Hampton Inn Sandusky Central

This hotel has great reviews...so I booked here expecting that review to match my stay there. Well upon check-in, I was greeted by such a kind worker at the front desk. Unfortunately I did not get his name, but he was soo sweet and very understanding. I was given keys to our room but soon as we walked down first floor hallway there was a bad smell mixed with bleach. Entering the first room, the beds were half made and it smelled really bad in room. I was told that a new house cleaning staff was just hired. We were given a second room and the beds were made up the same way. The vent in the room was filthy. You couldn't tell if it was mold or piled up dirt. The beds were checked thoroughly and very clean. We did stay because we were also very tire from all of the excitement of Cedar Point. We did leave earlier than usual. Overall the hotel is in a great location, literally by everything and reasonably priced, but I do not think I can ever stay here again.

I picked this hotel because it had a indoor pool and hot tub. I called to check before to make sure hot tub was up and running and would be when we were there. I was told it would be. When checked in I asked where pool and hot tub was and was informed that the hot tub was down for maintenance. Extremely disappointing. When we got to our room it smelled musty. We called front desk and they immediately got us a new room. This one was much better until in the middle of night we woke up hot due to AC not working great. We were to tired to ask about it and just dealt with it. Not sure we would stay here again.

The people that checked me in were amazing!! When I went up to my room it smelled like mildew. I had no trash bags in my room. I went with a few couples and they had a nice towel made into something and I did not. When I checked out the lady did not even ask me how my stay was. I will not be going back !!

Staff was courteous and helpful regarding explaining of abnormal breakfast. Did not go out of their way to ask how our stay was or I would have told them the mattress was lopsided and we were disappointed that the hot tub was out of service.

No breakfast buffet....😢 but service was excellent. Room very clean. Nice pool, no Covid-19 precautions from parents. Some overgrown kids playing hide and seek on the floor hallway.... after all, would stay again and would recommend.

Very small room, I expected more. I wanted to stay at the Marriott but couldn’t find 2 queen beds. I found them here but with our kids with us, the room was tight. I booked at around $120 a night a few weeks out then found it on google for $80 a night when looking at the restaurant options. Breakfast was a paper bag with a piece of fruit, a box of juice, and a small breakfast pastry so disappointing there also.

The Hampton Inn Sandusky Central was very clean and the the Front Desk Host was friendly and helpful with information about things to do in Sandusky and surrounding areas for our 39 Wedding Anniversary. Will definitely stay there again.

I really liked the rooms all having fridges and microwaves as well as coffee makers! That was very nice and the coffee in the lobby was always available as well! The only issue I had was the breakfast as it was just a bag with a granola bar and fruit, now I understand during covid a continental breakfast isn’t an option, but I feel like something else could have been offered in the bags. Also the pool signs all said it was open until 1am but we had a staff member knocking on the pool door which as two younger women alone, we did not want to open the door for someone that did not have a key, but when he finally left and got a key he just opened the door and yelled pool closed girls. With no explanation as to why the signs all show a closing time of 1am, but it was only 11:15pm. Later we called the front desk and they were very nice in explaining it closing at 11pm, so we just did not use the pool after that. The other staff was super nice about everything! Overall it wasn’t a bad experience at all and I would recommend this for everyone!
