Do not stay here, even expecting it to be cheal
Someone who looked intoxicated and under the influence offered me £10 to buy their phone. I had to present photo ID for some reason (i assume because of all the crime at the hotel) and i didnt have any, so they took their personal phone and took a photo of me. Very unsafe and strange hotel, nothing like the pictures, in a very rough part of the city.

Cheap and Cheerful
Cheap and Cheerful, it was perfect for staying close(ish) to my destination to save me a stupidly early start on the sunday morning. The family who own the place were really friendly and being close to an authentic indian curry house (or 5) offered me a perfect evening before getting an early night.

A bit Disappointing
Met at Reception by Pauline who was friendly and sorted our room out within minutes. Got into the room and found that there were no Coffee/Tea making facilities or hairdryer. Far from a revamped smoking area, just an outside space with undercover area more like a storeroom. Parking was difficult and not Secure a stated. Gates were left open overnight, so anybody could come and go as they pleased. On the bright side, Good beer and wine at a good price.

It was an amazing stay. Nothing fancy but everything essential was there- a clean bed and a nice shower. Pauline was very helpful, she went an extra Mike to make sure I was comfortable. The location is excellent- a bus stop in front of the Inn, can go around anywhere in Birmingham easily. Asian shops and a lot of Halal food available. Would recommend it highly. I didn’t mind slightly ripped wall paper at all.

Poor quality
Quality of room and bathroom poor. One bin in the bathroom only. No towel rack, no hooks to hang up clothes. Kettle in the room without cups or glasses. Window was broken and didn’t close. Saturday night had a karaoke/live music at the pub which didn’t end until around 2am so it was impossible to sleep. Shelves were falling apart with screws lying around on them. Insufficient pillows on all beds and they were incredibly thin. Ordered breakfast on Saturday morning which wasn’t delivered until 90 minutes later. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

Very cheap but clean.
Room clean and comfortable, but very small. Didn’t expect much more for the price. Just needed an overnight stay. Very little parking and had to get up at 7 to move the car.

As good as it gets
Planned this trip very early and didn't realise it was a big national weekend, so everywhere else is expensive and decided to go for this inn due to my budget. This is my first time staying in an inn, so it's worth noting that maybe my expectations aren't on the same level. The building itself seems old, it was a really long walk from checking in to the room. The room itself wasn't bad though, decent space and facilities. Personally I prefer to boil some water to drink but they didn't have a kettle in the room, which is fine and possibly normal for an inn. The sound proof is also not the best as the building is quite old itself. You can easily hear people bumping to the wall next door or other guests opening and closing their doors. This was quite distracting as it happens late at night. The window opens outward, so when it rains you get loads of raindrop noise on the window and it affected my sleep a lot, but closing the window would just be worse as there won't be any airflow. During check in, the lady was busy chatting to a customer in the pub so she only gave me a form to sign and room key and told me where to go. I didn't realise there was another exit we have to take when the bar is close in the morning, eventually I found my way. Probably a common practice for inns, to check out, you just leave your room key in your room and leave. I thought that was a bit odd for an inn with about 30 rooms and not 10 rooms.
