Deceptive advertising
We booked a superior room. The pictures of the room we booked did not reflect the room we received. Our room on the 18th floor and looked similar to a roadside motel. "Experience style in downtown Manhattan with an upscale eco-certified stay" the synopsis says. The hotel claims to be 4 star. Our first night was 2 star. The room was super spacious with exceptional views. However, the soap in the bathroom was unwrapped and sitting in the shower soap holder. The complimentary shampoo was almost empty. The duvet looked as if someone had been sitting on it recently. When the covers were pulled back it was unmade, as if someone had been sleeping in the bed and simply pulled the covers up. When making a bed in a hotel, it is very noticeable the detail taken to make a bed to any star standard. It was very clear someone had been lying in this bedding. There was a stain on the mattress protector. The night manager had already arranged to move us to the room we had booked (as per the photos). on the 42nd floor, this room also super spacious. The facility fee 'to be paid at property' as stated on hotels.com is all I have had to pay and nothing more. It was stated as USD 105. The hotel added tax. No where in the booking did it say plus tax. The night manager was wonderful and very empathic to our disappointment with all we talked about with her and is a credit to this hotel. If you do book this hotel please lower your expectations. I hope your experience is more enjoyable than ours.

Good location but needs updating
This is a very outdated hotel with no in-hotel amenities, however they will charge your credit card $300 a night extra for incidentals/pre-authorization hold. The heater/AC is not easily regulated so you are going to either be very hot all night or wake up freezing. I had to request multiple extra blankets due to the freezing room, although the blankets they give you a re the thickness of a bed sheet. For the pros of the hotel, the housekeeping is great and the lady on our floor was super nice and helpful. The bag check and doormen were also helpful and very nice. The location was good, and a direct line to uptown, but be ready to spend for rideshare/taxi rides.

Cautionary Tale for anyone on vacation in NYC.
We arrived for out reservation in December 26 only to be greet with we don’t have your reserved room available. And asked to stay at another hotel for the night and our room would be ready on the 27th. We returned on the 27th and yet again, they did not have our reserved room but offered us a room with 1 bed for our whole family. We unfortunately had to plead and stand firm on them delivering the service they had already paid for two weeks prior. They also said they would give us $50/day to compensate on not having our room available… To say how infuriating and offensive that was is an understatement. We pushed and FINALLY received the room we originally paid for for 3 days. Our trip to New York would have been more comfortable had we’d known NOT to book with the Millineum Hotel.

could be lots better
This place could use friendlier staff and some freebies to offset the outdated appliances and grumpy front desk.
I mean charging for bananas and coffee in the morning is just TACKY.
Bathtub made no sense and goes boiling hot forever.
TV makes no sense and is programmed to NOT go to regular menu but instead to some random screen with white noise
housekeeping came to turn my bed at 9AM when I had just slipped out for a coffee.

The rooms were substandard. The box-spring was exposed and you saw the tears, the bead sheet was oversize and fell to the floor as well as the room was dusty and vacuumed properly. Hallway carpet was full of stains and the elevator was dark. no refrigerator or microwave in the room. this is standard in all hotel rooms. you have to request for this at a cost.
