Holiday Inn Express Colorado Springs Airport, an IHG Hotel

When I got my room I didn’t know there was going to be construction happening. When I check in they didn’t tell me anything about when the workers were going to start working in the morning. I was rudely awakened at 7 am with hammering and drills. Not my idea of a relaxing get away.

Very disappointing. Renovations were taking place and the remaining rooms were in dismay. Halls/stairwells were not very clean and stains were everywhere.

They are remodeling but the hotel is pretty gross. Stains all over carpet, brown water came out of the faucet. The lamps were layered with dust. It wasn’t what i expected from a holiday inn. We also had an issue one night where a drunk guy was next to us yelling and slamming his door all night - ALL night! The walls are pretty thin anyway. We called down to the front desk and they helped us out quickly and then we were able to move rooms the next night. The only saving grace was that their employees were the best - so amazing (every single one!). They should be recognized for their excellent customer service.

The staff was above and beyond, probably my highest rated satisfaction with a hotel period .

Upon arrival, the hotel was under construction and the main entrance was blocked off. The parking lot was a mess and very unattractive. Guests had to enter through a side door. Because of the construction, there were many times that my fiancé and I had to park at the back of the building. As someone not from CO, I didn't realize that this is a bad area and there were many times that shady people would be sitting around in the parking lot which made us feel uneasy. The front desk staff was friendly, but as we walked to the elevator the hotel seemed very grim and old. The room was very stale and weirdly set up. I wish we would have looked at other options, because we are NEVER staying here again. Very disappointed being that this was not a Holiday Inn Express. I would have preferred to stay at the Holiday Inn next door, which looked better.

The employees where nice, the room is small and no space, the hot water doesn't last when you take a shower, the snack area was not replenished. They charge 2.00 dollars for a can coke and bottle water that taste nasty. Breakfast the biscuits are hard.

I was very disappointed when I went to take a shower and all there was, was lukewarm almost cold water. The carpet had stains and the room smelled of stale chocolate and smoke.

It was not good: 1. The toilet was not flushing well even after repairing. 2. The Lavatory does not flush well. Note: The front refused my receipt request, telling me that I get it from IHG. Is this true?
