I was so excited to stay for once in the village, chose Washington Square hotel for the beautiful Art Deco decor, charm, and Location. I got all of that in my stay! Location was perfect even though I was a little concerned about many reviews referencing the homeless if you walked out to the left. To the left is Washington Square, a beautiful sunny park, and there were a good deal of homeless people there, but they were active, playing Chess with passerby's, doing the best they can. Sad that they are not taken better care of in this country, but not threatening at all! The front desk checkin and checkout were very efficient, nothing to complain about there. But unlike the warm coziness of the hotel, not one of the staff was friendly,or warm. They were just efficient. No conversation beyond the answer required. The Shower was amazing, see picture. .The Restaurant in the lower level was sub standard when it comes to service, and even worse than the hotel staff- they were just rude and uncaring. Not sure if the hotel and the restaurant are of one, or seperate entities. I will be staying in the village on my next visit, but probably not at Washington Square Hotel. 😥
