This was a pretty uncomfortable stay. Not because the room was bad, but then, there were some broken items, such as the soap and hand lotion dispensers that had been detached from where they were affixed, and there was still writing on the shower walls from the install, and the hard water already ruining the shower fixtures. But the worst of it was having what was most notably a substance selling service coming out of the far southern bottom room. My grandson, who is autistic was approached by a man letting him know that he could take care of anything he needed, showing him his pocket as if to gesture selling. Even the old man showed up in the evening to collect the days earnings, close shop, and reopen in the morning. My grandson was terrified. Due to an emergency we needed to leave early. Our check in was the 25th, and we left the 26th. Got an okay through both Hotels.com and the Days Inn, but low and behold, I've been charged for both days of the original stay, which even if there had not been an emergency, I would have checked out due to my grandson being upset by the gentleman who approached him. No breakfast was available, not sure I saw a credit for that. As such I am disputing my charge for the stay. I'll pay for the one night, but not two. Sad what has happened to the little town I grew up in and graduated from high school from, but I could live here again. Use caution because you won't get help from the staff. They are as empathetic as rocks.
