We were denied check in for a room booked on Hotels.com. This was because we are both 19 and not 21. I understand this was policy and it was my mistake. However, I was not able to be refunded for the room I booked and the 21 age restriction was in incredibly small font on the confirmation email. We were then in a situation where I was paying for a hotel room that we couldnt stay in, nowhere to put our bags for the concert we had later that evening, and no way to shower/get ready for an evening weve planned for weeks. Not to mention the staff were extremely rude. I want to make it clear that Im a 19 year old, I dont write reviews about staff friendliness becuase I get that its not that serious. But we were in a situation with nowhere to go, and the front desk hung up on me twice after snapping at me. We ended up having to walk 30 minutes to a train station with suitcases and heavy backpacks just to get to the concert. We then had to sleep in the airport. This effectively ruined the trip for both of us and all we wanted to do is go home. As upset as I am about being out of $150, Im more upset about a weekend together was accompanied with so much stress.
