Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Fort Wayne

I used to stay here quite a bit. Hadn't been up here in about a year. Wow. What a difference a year makes. Smoke smell was horrible. Since they are advertising weekly and monthly rates it has gone way downhill. Lots of late night/early morning "activities" taking place on the property. My door was pounded on at 3:00AM -- mistaken room. Only one drinking glass in the cupboards. And it was filthy. There are plenty of other options in Fort Wayne.

Hotel is a weekly and monthly rental place and it was not advertised as such. It was dirty, there were burn holes in the sheets and on the furniture even though we had a “smoke free” room. The kitchen was supposed to have dishes, silverware, and cookware and we had two plates, two knives, and a skillet. There was no toilet paper and we had to go ask for some. We also had to ask for towels because there were 2 towels for 4 people. The chair legs were chewed up by dogs, there were cigarette butts everywhere and also trash everywhere. We were woken by the local residents at 1am with loud screaming and then gun shots. When we arrived to check in the police were there. We also witnessed a drug deal in the back of the complex. Our keys weren’t working the second day and when we asked to have them fixed they didn’t ask for ID or anything. We could have asked to get into anyone’s room. Do not stay here. Fortunately we were so busy with a two day lacrosse tournament we weren’t around too much, but when we were it was nasty. Wish I had taken pictures to prove all this.

The lady at the front desk was super nice. The facility is a weekly/monthly rental and I did not know that prior to booking. I was staying with my wife and three daughters. The people staying there appeared to be transient types. Not trying to judge, but it was a rough looking place. Cigarette butts on the decking outside of our door, the kitchen floor was sticky, the bath tub had some red substance on it. The room smelled like reefer. I wouldn't stay here with a family, but it's probably fine if you're staying solo.

Very rundown. Mold in the bathroom. But it did have a full kitchen for a very low price

The property was very trashy and and the rooms filthy, including blood stains on my sheet and on the carpet. Internet service was inop when we arrived and too slow to be useful when fixed. On our first night (of 4 total), we could hear people screaming at each other behind closed doors as we walked out to our car. When we returned 2 hours later, there were 3 police cars on site with lights flashing and people stranding around in several groups of 6-12 each. Two nights later, at 2 AM, we were awakened by someone pounding repeatedly on the door of the room next to us and shouting for the person inside to let him in. In summary, this property is trashy/dirty beyond description and did not feel safe.

Spacious and accommodating, and check in was a breeze

I liked the fact they had a basketball court on the premises. I didn't like the fact tahat the pool was closed and had bed bugs and other bugs in the room. Had to end my stay early.

We ended up canceling our stay it was so horrible. There was no indication that they must have weekly or monthly rates because there were people just hanging out everywhere watching us. The room smelled horrible. Cigarette butts all over the grounds. On the bright side, receptionist was very kind and helpful in getting our refund.

We checked into our first room, it was dirty, smelled like smoke, had cigarettes in the ac. Checked into a different room, slightly leas dirty. Overall pretty terrible. Stayed here 2 years ago and it was fine, but I'll never stay here again.
