You'll learn about the history of this foundry and the steel industry. Guided tours are available in Spanish or you can explore on your own and read English descriptions of the exhibits. You can get hands-on learning about how raw materials and ore are processed to make steel, and then see for yourself how it's used to make everyday goods we rely on.

Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey (MARCO) offers a wide range of contemporary art from all over the world in a building noted for its minimalist and postmodernist architecture. The exterior of the building offers a striking appearance with its burnt-red color and sharp lines, with a huge bronze dove at its entrance. Inside, you can see hundreds of pieces of modern art from paintings to sculpture, photography, and multimedia from all over the world. In addition to the massive permanent collection, the museum hosts regularly rotating exhibitions with contemporary artists the world over.

Palacio del Obispado is a small museum that's free on Sundays, offering serene, breathtaking views with a mountain backdrop in a historic building dating to the 18th century. This building was once the home of the Bishop of Linares, and during the mid-19th century, it became a vital fortress in the war against the United States. It was even the site of a major battle in the war between Mexican forces and the troops of General Worth. Today, the small museum focuses on the history of the Nuevo León region.

It's located inside Fundidora Park. It's also something of a hidden gem of the region; since a lot of people don't know about it, it doesn't tend to draw crowds. Here you can see stunningly detailed wax figures of people like Pope Paul II and others. You can also see wax sculptures of some of the local flora and fauna of the region, which is unique to wax museums.

Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Mexicano is a hall of fame dedicated to the recognition of those who have contributed to the sport of baseball in Mexico. Those enshrined include players, sportswriters, umpires, and directors who have participated in Mexican baseball, or those of Mexican nationality who have played the sport internationally. Inductees must have between 10 and 20 years in the sport, depending on their role and where they played. It includes more than 199 individuals who have played the sport since 1939.
This is a hall of fame for sports fans that includes some stars you may not see in the MLB hall. It's 10 minutes southeast of downtown.

Papalote Museo del Niño is a children's museum located in Fundidora Park offering a place where children can play, learn, and interact for the purpose of learning while having fun. The museum is an architectural space located over 50 feet underground. It includes a laser screen, a teleconferencing facility where kids can talk with other children from all over the world, an educational sculpture exhibit, and exhibits showcasing the importance of biodiversity in our ecology and even the science of hydroponics.
Like all museums, the exhibits here are interactive and kids learn by getting hands-on and experimenting. It's only 10 minutes southeast of downtown Monterrey.

Museo Metropolitano de Monterrey is a small museum located inside the original city hall of Monterrey and showcases the entire history of the city from the 16th century to today. Here you can see dozens of artifacts and learn all about the founding of the city in 1596 as well as its cultural development through today. The signage here is in Spanish, so be aware of that going in; it may be a good idea to bring a translator along. The museum also includes a temporary exhibit room that showcases rotating exhibits from important modern and contemporary artists.
Though small, this is an important museum for the city's legacy. It's located about 10 minutes south of downtown.

The hundreds of puppets on display here are from all over the world, and a guided tour takes you through themed rooms looking at everything from shadow puppets to marionettes, and even those made of kitchen utensils. Puppets are showcased both from Mexico and from countries all over the world. You'll learn about the history of puppets and the role they've played in world history.
To top it off, the museum has an operating puppet theater that puts on shows every week. The museum is 10 minutes south of downtown Monterrey.

The Candy Museum – Museo del Dulce is a candy museum where you can learn all about the history of sweets and how they are made, from ancient times through today. This museum is smaller but informative and fun. You can even take a guided tour with an English-speaking guide. You can see replica food items, get a VR kitchen experience, and even taste some candies from the local region. It's a bit of a hidden gem, not very well known, but also rarely crowded, and it's accessed by a fun boat ride over an artificial river in the heart of Fundidora Park.
