I was overall disappointed with my stay at Tierra Mia.
The room itself was spacious and clean.
We arrived on the last ferry, when the front desk closes. They waited for us to arrive past their closing time so we could get checked in.
Unfortunately we were given room 1, which is right behind the front desk and so all the hotel guests have to walk right past the room. We also had a lot of noise from the kitchen and breakfast dining area. We could also hear noise from all the other guests at all hours, which is probably the case for all the rooms.
The door to the room is a sliding glass door so we had to keep the blinds drawn the entire time for privacy.
What was really disappointing was that we had a few small issues with the room, which by themselves weren't the end of the world, but were handled poorly by the staff.
Issue #1: When we told the front desk person our TV did not work, she rolled her eyes and told us we had to use BOTH the remotes. Yes, we did that, it does not work.
Issue #2: The shower does not drain. "Oh, that's weird, no one has ever complained about that before."
Issue #3: Screen door does not stay shut. "Oh I'll send someone later to check it out."
TV was fixed but the other two things were not, and there was never any apology or effort to mitigate the situation. When I asked for a different room, I was told they were full.
When we checked out, there was no "Thank you for your visit."
For this price, find yourself a hotel with actual hospitality.
