Hakodate
The Hotel is convenient for Goryokaku park and close to a good department store with an excellent cafe at the entrance, great cakes, across the road downstairs is very good coffee.
The Bath (Onsen?)at the Hotel was OK but I would not stay at this hotel for the Bath.
This hotel needs refurbishing its a bit dated and tired. The staff however were good

Great place to stay when in Hakodate, Japan
This location is better than where I stayed 2 years ago, since there are more restaurants and stores than in the area of Hakodate main train station. The hotel has an "onsen", hot spring bath on The 14th floor where you can see the Goryokaku area. I will stay here again for sure.

It's room is really small (as compared to hotels in Tokyo & the price is over S$100) and the hotel is quite a distance away from Hakodate Train Station. Had to take a cab there as it was rainy and it was too far to walk while dragging luggage. Thankfully it was only for 3 nights' stay.

Fun in Hakodate
Great hotel just a 10 minute taxi ride from Hakodate Train Station. Typical Japanese hotel with small rooms but very clean and many comforts such as toiletries, TV and clean nightgown every day. Also free wifi in the rooms and free coffee in the lobby. There is also a free hot bath (onsen) on the 14th floor. The hotel is close to Goryokaku Tower and Goryokaku Park and close to a tram (street-car) station if you want to take the tram into the city near Hakodate Station. Would stay here again.

Staff are attentive
Staff are polite and attentive. There are many eateries around the hotel. There's another route inn within 10 minutes drive so can be confusing

Handy to Main Tourist Site
Very convenient walk to Goryokaku Park and observation tower. Also handy to the local street car line. Far from the railway station (about half an hour on the streetcar, after a ten-minute walk). Quiet room. The neighborhood is much more upscale than the region around Hakodate Station.
