We were most impressed with Bleu De Toi, and wished we had had a few days longer at this guesthouse. We were made welcome from the time we arrived, with Robin, the manager, and his assistant, Karen, being there to greet us and show us to our room. It was clear Robin has extensive experience of the hospitality industry having worked in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Sao Tome.
The guesthouse is about 80 metres from the coastal road which can be busy at times although the traffic didn't trouble us at all. The nearest beach is at Pereybere which is a 5 minute walk away although Robin directed us to another, more private, beach in the opposite direction towards Grand Baie, and which we preferred.
Our room was on the first floor: it was spacious with a generous balcony facing the front of the building and overlooking the hotel gardens and grounds which were kept in a tidy state. The room was en suite. There was an adequate swimming pool with sun loungers and chairs; there was also a pitch for boule. The downstairs terrace was used for meals and provided shade from the sun.
The reservation was for bed and breakfast. However, Robin is a proficient cook and prepared a delicious three-course dinner with wine during our stay. He does this on an ad hoc basis each week for those guests who want a change from eating at local restaurants. We would recommend guests take advantage of this service.
