8/10 Muy bueno
25 de enero de 2025
We spent one night here in January 2025. The hotel (the vibe is more of a guesthouse) is tucked behind the Jhori Bazaar, and it’s a very pleasant experience walking into the tranquil front garden and exiting the bustle of the surrounding area. The building is quite pretty and unique, and the owner, Vikram, was exceptionally helpful and communicative. He texted me before our arrival, sent a porter to greet us on the street (it would be quite difficult to find on your own), and arranged a car to pick us up for a very early flight the next day. At the recommendation of other travelers, we also had the home-cooked dinner at the hotel, which was delicious (650 INR/person, and we were able to have some friends staying elsewhere come and join us). An interesting note: Our initial walk to the hotel included a dirt path, but overnight the street had been paved!
The location is very convenient. We enjoyed strolling through the bazaar and over to the Hawa Mahal and City Palace. The streets are very busy, but you can cross the major thoroughfare through the metro station.
The room was comfortable enough. A little tight, some peeling paint, and sheets were a bit coarse (though I have no doubt the staff would have rectified this if we stayed another night).
You can hear *everything* going on in the hotel—it’s an old and open building. I strongly recommend headphones or earplugs.
This is not a western hotel, but it has a great location, great service, and great vibes. Would return.
