Will not be back.
We came to celebrate our one-year anniversary and I had been working closely with the hotel to arrange a special package for this occasion. I contacted the hotel several times before our stay, both through phone calls and emails, and even made an in-person visit on the day of our arrival to confirm that everything was in order. Upon checking in, I once again confirmed with the front desk that our room was ready and prepared as planned. Initially, the staff member indicated that it didn’t seem ready, but then she changed her mind and said it was.
However, when we arrived at our room, I immediately knew something was wrong. The atmosphere was supposed to be enhanced by music, but there was none. As I stepped inside, I was devastated to find that none of the arrangements I had meticulously planned with the hotel were in place. There were no rose petals, no toast (not the food kind), and no music—absolutely nothing. This was supposed to be a memorable celebration for my partner and me at The Raphael, in a top-floor king suite, and instead, it became a painful disappointment.
The lack of attention to detail ruined what was meant to be a special moment, and I found myself in tears, while my partner tried to console me. While minor mishaps can happen, completely overlooking every aspect of our celebration is entirely unacceptable. As a result, neither of us plans to return. This experience has left us frustrated and heartbroken.
