I normally wouldn’t leave a review, but this stay was awful! The 2 over worked girls at the front desk were so kind, hard working, and put up with far too much from the owner.
We were staying for a wedding that had rented approximately 2/3 of the rooms at the hotel. Several people from our group witnessed the owner yelling at employees at different times, making them very uncomfortable. All of the rooms were run down with A/C, fridge or microwave issues. The beds were HARD. While the house keeping was done well, cleaning can’t fix the peeling paint and worn out carpeting.
A friend came to our room because their toilet was backed up. They could not get anyone to answer the phone and the office doors were locked. We allowed them to use ours.
Where things took a horrible turn- The bride and groom arrived wanting to check in and were locked out of the office and no one answered the doorbell or phones! The groom knocked loudly hoping someone inside would hear him. Eventually the owner woke up and angrily came down. Instead of being apologetic for potentially ruining their wedding night, he screamed at the groom that he must be drunk knocking like that and would call the police on them! Friends smoothed things over, and my husband let the owner know of the toilet issue in the other guests room. Instead of fixing it himself, he handed my husband a plunger to deal with it!
I can’t believe we spent $200 a night for this treatment!
