I ended up reserving here at the last minute for family weekend at RIT because my other plans got cancelled on me the day of. This was literally the only place available.
As I was standing in line at the desk I heard the manager tell the staff to cancel all outstanding reservations because of an overbooking issue, so I was very relieved to get a room, knowing there was NOTHING else available. When I got to my room I got the call that my reservation was cancelled, but I already had my room, so I was good.
The room was... Not clean. It smelled off, the carpet was sticky, and suspicious stains everywhere. There was one cup, one of those tiny bars of soap, 1 roll of toilet paper, and nothing else. The TV was tiny, the remote didn't work, and the heat emitted a terrible smell when I turned it on. The door didn't open without me smashing it open with my shoulder, and the water in the shower wouldn't fully turn off.
All that said, the beds were VERY comfortable, and because the fan on the HVAC was so loud it drowned out the constant sounds of kids screaming and dogs barking, my kid and I slept incredibly well. At the end of the day (har har) a good night's sleep is the most important part of motel stay.
