I checked in as usual, and went into the room I had reserved. When I got into the room, I proceeded to inspect for bed bugs by removing the sheet in the top left corner of the mattress. I didn’t see any evidence of bedbugs, but my girlfriend found what stains in the comforter.
When I spoke to the front desk attendant, he told me that he wouldn’t be able to get me a refund, I would have to call Hotels.com who I booked with, or he could put me in a different room. We decided to give it another chance and went into the second room. We began inspecting the room and found similar issues on the comforter again. It is evident that this hotel is not washing the comforters between guests. I wanted to make sure that this hotel did not rent the room out in its condition to another guest, so I left a plastic bowl in the room to indicate that the room had not been cleaned.
We went back downstairs to ask for a refund and we had to wait about 20 minutes for the attendant to check the rooms. When he came back he said that he would only approve a partial refund because we had left trash in one room and the comforter in disarray in the other room. This indicated to me that the hotel intended to rent the rooms to other guests without properly cleaning them. Why else would it be an issue that the comforter was in disarray?
I would appreciate a full refund. It isn’t my fault that the rooms were filthy. Nobody should stay there after seeing the comforters are not cleaned properly.
