Simple hotel, good location. Horrible experience.
At the arrival to the hotel in the afternoon, the nice girl greeting us told we should pay at checkout four nights later. The day after, when arriving back to the hotel at 6pm, we were met by an extremely upset guy in the reception, who claimed we were trying to fraud the hotel - they had tried to charge the card listed with hotels.com, and it’s a card I use for booking purposes only - and just have a balance when paying. As I had been told we should pay at checkout, there was no balance on the card.
The rude receptionist refused to believe that the sweet girl that had welcomed us had told us to pay at checkout, he instead claimed that we had arrived at night - he started yelling at us, claimed we were thieves (in front of other guests) and that we should get our things and leave the hotel immediately.
Both his claims would have been very easy to check had he just bothered, instead of spending his energy on threatening us - at which point I lost my temper and yelled back at him. He could easily see when we checked in, and he could have contacted his colleague to verify our claim.
He claimed that Expedia demanded us to leave the hotel straight away, and that my account at Expedia should be cancelled - when I asked him to show me that, he couldn’t produce it, just a message from Expedia that the payment hadn’t worked and that he should contact us about that within 24 hours.
Avoid this place!!
We went to Hilton instead.
