I stayed at Grafton Beach Resort from April 20–23, 2025, and it was hands down one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Despite booking through Expedia and being charged in full at check-in, I was forced to change rooms three times due to serious maintenance and hygiene issues.
Room 1: The door wouldn’t close properly—an obvious safety risk.
Room 2: The bathroom was rusted, stained, and clearly not cleaned to a sanitary standard.
Room 3: Hair was left in the sink, shower, and on the toilet. The refrigerator door wouldn’t close, leading to water leaking on the floor—an accident waiting to happen.
I stayed one night only because my child and I arrived late and had no other immediate option. Despite raising these issues with the on-site supervisor, who promised to escalate it to management, no solution was provided. Expedia also attempted to intervene, but the hotel refused to issue even a partial refund, hiding behind a rigid cancellation policy. Calls to the front desk went unanswered after I checked out.
This is not the standard anyone should accept—especially at a beachfront property that’s supposed to represent the beauty of Tobago. Is this how the island wants to be remembered by its visitors? Sadly, Grafton Beach Resort was a complete letdown, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Do better.
