While somewhat difficult to get around, Wynard is a nature reserve and absolutely beautiful. I recommend renting a taxi for the day (which is pretty cheap to do in India and your hotel/hostel can help you set it up). My taxi driver was a Hindu who frequents the temple. We took our shoes off and left them with the pile of shoes at the bottom of the stairs and began to climb.
